The great story of the Pharaoh of ancient Egypt :

The pharaoh was all-powerful. He was seen as the spiritual leader, the respected and revered guide of all Egyptian people. In Egyptian mythology, Osiris ruled over men before his jealous brother Set murdered him. But Horus, son of Isis and Osiris, succeeded in defeating his uncle and punishing him for his action.
Since that day, he became the first pharaoh in history, heir to his father. This is the common basis of all Egyptian mythology: the gods ruled the Earth before men. That is why all the pharaohs who followed were considered as the successors of Horus.
He was also a being of divine essence. Son of Ra, the sun god, he was in charge of being the sole interlocutor of the gods on Earth. According to the legend, the god Ra formed only one person with the pharaoh to unite carnally with the queen and thus conceive an heir of divine rank. The sovereign’s mission was to watch over his subjects and ensure the prosperity of his country. He was the guarantor of the balance between heaven and earth according to the philosophy of Maat, goddess of justice. The name of Maat meaning “the truth”, the ruler saw his power as unquestionable.
The first meaning of this name was “palace” but little by little, as time went by, it ended up designating the person who occupied it: the pharaoh. Knowing that the palace was considered as a divine residence and as the administrative center of the whole country, the word “Pharaoh” takes then all its meaning: all the powers were concentrated on him, the equal of the gods.
His name was spoken with fear and he commanded the respect of all his subjects. The pharaoh had a certain number of “titles” that are grouped under the term “titulature”. They were intended to strengthen his power by emphasizing supernatural, divine qualities.
